I am a taco aficionado. I was born and raised in northern ca, and love Mexican. When I was pregnant, I craved Mexican and had it for 9 months straight. My youngest will only eat lengua when we go to taquerias. I only eat Mexican from taquerias and trucks. Now that I’ve established my credibility, let me tell you how amazing this place is. We are staying at the Esperanza with a $ 600 credit provided by Hub’s company. What sane person would leave that paradise with paid for meals and the opportunity to gawk at Hollywood stars to travel into downtown 3 times during her trip to eat this taco joint? Why that would be yours truly. On our first trip in, some woman saw Hubs and I looking lost and asked what we were looking for. I told her tacos, and was a bit suspicious when she suggested we follow her. Los Claros, however, looked clean and full of locals. We sat down and ate. Holla! Six tacos, coke and aqua fresca for $ 12US. Here is what we tried on our three visits: 1) Battered fish tacos — This is like Filet of Fish on fresh warm tortillas. But they’re not — they’re freshly deep fried sea bass for 30 pesos. You know sea bass, the $ 30/pound fish at home? I ordered 3 today for lunch. 2) Shrimp Ceviche I talked to the man behind the counter, and he makes this with cucumber, tomato, onion, fresh shrimp, lime, and salt. It tastes super fresh, and is the best ceviche I’ve ever head in the world(including Peru!) 3) Grilled Scallop Tacos Warm. Fresh. Chewy. Yum. 4) Smoked Marlin Tacos. These taste like smoked pork. Yummy. 5) Some $ 10 fish speciality. This was fresh seafood(clams, shrimp, scallops, octopus) in spicy red juice. Now that I’ve gone 3 times, I have standardized my order to 2 battered fish tacos, 1 shrimp ceviche on toast, and 1 grilled scallop taco.

If you’re in Cabo San Lucas, you need to come eat here, especially if you’re looking for great food for a great price! One of the locals recommended Los Claros to us, and we were not disappointed! It’s definitely a hole in the wall, but all of us were fine after eating here. We were sat at a table when we arrived, and they give you a menu with photos on it, which is really helpful. We tried the Fish Taco, Battered Shrimp Taco, and Smoked Marlin Taco( ), and all were delicious! The fish and smoked marlin were tied for our favorite, just because it’s rare to see marlin in the US, so it was very unique for us. However, the battered shrimp was a close second. The best part was the salsa bar that also had radishes, jalapenos, and other delicious fixings. Most of the salsas we tried were delicious, and really added good flavor to the tacos. I would definitely come back here if I come back to Cabo!

Taking a long walk through downtown Cabo in 93 degree humidity can take a lot out of you. And not knowing where to eat can leave you shit out of luck. No, don’t walk into a nearby hotel or one of those other tourist traps. Do what I do, take your homies’ advice from TJ/Chula Vista and take the familia to Los Claros to eat. Outdoor — open air seating, located yards from the Marina and street. Service was quick, painless(habla Ingles) and there’s a buttload of toppings/salsas for your tacos. We highly recommend the mariscos tacos and ceviches. Wash it all down with an ice cold Pacifico or Clamato. Everything was tasty, abundant and filling. We barely remembered the shuttle drive back to our resort. We all had food coma. Highly recommended. Until we meet again, amigos!

The best Cabo street tacos are found here right along the main drag. With much along the outside of the establishment left to be desired, scaring most tourists away, the actual food does NOT disappoint. Locals clamoring to this spot and shamelessly staring at you? Check. Being able to watch your food being made? Check. Authentic salsa bar with all of the trimmings? Check. This place has it all! I had the shrimp and fish tacos here on two different nights. I also got to try the battered fish and crunchy fish tacos, and the crunchy taco was the single-best taco I’ve ever had. I also remember my group only paid $ 27 total where each of us had chips, salsa, water bottles, and roughly 3 tacos each. 3 tacos are enough to fill you up here too, as the place does not skimp on portions. Keep in mind that most of the sit-down restaurants are charging close to $ 27 per PLATE in and around the harbor and tourist areas. It was the best value I’ve ever had, and some of the best authentic food I’ve tasted, so much so that my group came here 2 nights in a row. My only negative feedback that will cost them a star was for only having Tecate available, so don’t plan on being able to order any Corona or Pacifico to wash down the amazing food they serve up here.

Los Claros is home of THEBEST seafood tacos this side of Cabo! The fried shrimp and fried fish tacos are perfectly battered and so fresh! The seafood soup is also a must– it is flavorful and complete with half a crab! The octopus was also very soft and fresh inside the soup! It was also extremely clean with no flies and gel hand sanitizer at every table. The staff was attentive and can speak English, although they primarily like to speak their native Spanish(so you know this is an actual local place and not solely for tourists!) In fact, most of the patrons there were local natives! Come here for an authentic and delicious taco experience!

These are the best tacos I’ve ever had and boy do I love tacos. The salsa bar was out-of-control delicious with so many fresh veggies, chiles, limes and salsas. Hands down the best salsas I’ve had. I had the battered fish tacos, which were perfecto!

Very bad restaurant, bad service, limited seafood choices(only fish and shrimp). Small quantities. Afterwards they were trying to charge us «American» rate and told us that the peso rate was for Mexicans only. Also trying to charge us 16% more for tax. Never had tax for food anywhere else in Mexico.

BESTFISHTACOSHANDSDOWN. When we were looking for this place, we asked locals that were nearby because the directions on Unilocal isn’t accurate. The guy told me that they have two locations, ones mostly filled with tourists and the other is mostly locals. Of course we went to the one thats mostly locals! We want the local experience. It is about 2 blocks down from the main street where Squid Roe is. FOOD: I came here twice during my 5 day trip in Cabo! My boyfriend loved the fish tacos, he said it was the best the besttttt fish taco he’s ever had! I’m back in the bay and I miss it a lot too. We had the flan also, and it was the most amazing thing everrrrr! SERVICE: Service is awesome, the people there don’t speak very great english but you can get by! They never made us feel uncomfortable, the chef was so nice and asked how was our tacos.

This place talks big about their seafood and that’s exactly what you should get. I think there are two locations, one closer to the marina and one more towards downtown. We went to the one in downtown. This was the first meal we had in Cabo San Lucas and it looked like a nice, quick place to grab a bite. Also, there were plenty of locals dining there. Always a good sign. You know how it is. We got a couple of different things: 1. Shrimp and mixed seafood ceviche tostada — this was my favorite thing there. All the parts came together nicely with the shrimp, fish, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, lime juice. It’s light and made me come back for more. 2. Smoked marlin taco — marlin was salty, flavorful, and distinct. The texture was similar to tuna but the flavor was something I haven’t had. Excellent. 3. Carne taco — good but definitely overshadowed by the seafood. There is also a nice salsa bar with plenty of tasty options of salsas, onions, jalapenos, and even onion rings. I loved this place and I wish I could have went more than twice. I will be back shrimp ceviche.

Starving after a flight from the US, we stumbled into the closest restaurant to our hotel. Lucky for us Claros was open. Service was pretty quick and the place was clean. There were also clowns passing by making balloons for kids. The mar y tierra taco was yummy, pescado al plancha taco was okay, but the ceviche tostada was the bomb! So fresh and tangy. Unlimited toppings at the salsa bar just like I like. Great place to stop by for a quick delicious bite!

We were looking to throw down on some fish tacos, and we did. There is plenty to choose from on the menu. The battered fish tacos with flour tortillas were Delish. The toppings bar was great. Plenty of toppings to choose from(3 types of cabbage, salsas, grilled jalepenos & onions, onion rings, limes, Baja sauce, corn relish, and pickled onions.) You want fish tacos this is a great spot you won’t be disappointed

Ate lunch at the Los Claros across from Alcaravea. This place was packed with locals which is always a good thing; we were the only tourists. Had a bunch of different seafood tacos. Mostly went there to try smoked marlin tacos. Everything was really good, although the grilled shrimp taco was a bit small. The smoked marlin tacos are an interesting yet delicious flavor. If I was staying closer to this location I’d probably revisit but I was staying much closer to Tacos Gardenias which I believe to be just as good if not better.

Interesting fish tacos in that they employ a panko crusted fish. Condiment bar was well stocked and they had a few choices in white sauce(e.g., tarter sauce, mayonnaise etc.) The three kinds of hot sauce available were a chipotle based, peanut based, and jalapeño type. None of them really hit a home run for me, but the place is genuine with lots of locals and only a few tourists. Only Tecate beer poured in a cup is available. A little cheaper than Gardenias in town. I would return if it was convenient. «A-OK!»

When arriving at a restaurant Cabo and seeing that a bunch of locals are actually eating there, you know that’s a good sign. We ordered an octopus taco, crispy shrimp taco, smoked marlin, and another friend ordered the marlin empanada. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. Easily the cheapest meal we had during our visit and one of the best!

A 3 min walk north from the pier, you’ll want to try all the tacos, but the smoky marlin(fished from probably a mile away in the water) tacos are a to die for. Scallop tacos were also very good. Get everything you can’t find back at home here. It’s dirt cheap too.

Best fish tacos in San Jose Del Cabo! They come with not one but two fish filets. I like the crunchy ones. Super cheap place to eat. Tacos are huge, you only need a couple. Great salsa bar with all the trimmings.

We enjoyed the atmosphere as we ate our tacos and drank our afternoon cocktails. I was really pleased with the different tacos I ordered. Brian did not care for one of his tacos, but otherwise, all was good. Would we recommend this place? Absolutely. The food was great, and the place was fun. Read more about my experience here:

One week I spent under the hot Mexican sun in Cabo San Lucas. One week spent lounging and swimming and touring and eating and sweating. One week searching for tacos that would truly blow my socks straight off. And on my last day in Cabo, I found them. Los Claros officially holds the title of THE best shrimp tacos that I have ever had in my entire life. Everything from the cooking level of the shrimp to the crispiness of the batter to the amazing, epic toppings bar made this place TOTALLY worth the search it took to find it. The place is super casual, with a single mobile grill top and plastic patio furniture, but it doesn’t matter. It just all adds to the charm(although, granted, the lack of fans and air conditioning isn’t the best feature, it’s still worth dealing with), as did Victor, our happy and welcoming waiter. Between Sean and I, we managed to try: Smoked marlin taco — such deep smokey flavor, it almost reminded me of bacon! Fried shrimp tacos: unghhhh sooooo good. Fried fish taco: also delicious, but shrimp was my favorite. Flan: Light, sweet, and delicious The tacos are served plain in the tortilla — flour or corn, your choice — and you get to add as much stuff from their awesome toppings bar as you want. They have an assortment of sauces from mild(pico) to super spicy(habenero), and pickled onion, cabbage, cole slaw, avocado… mmmm. They also have corn salad and deep fried peppers on their to round out your meal. The tacos ranged in price from $ 17 to $ 22 pesos, so like $ 1.50 to $ 2.00 each! Awesome awesome awesome. My biggest regret is just that we didn’t discover this place until our last day, otherwise I’m sure we would’ve eaten many more meals there! It’s worth it to note that there are like 4 different Los Claros locations in the downtown Cabo area, including one right off of the marina, but I’m really glad that we hunted this one down.

You ever see those gaudy English signs in places like Cabo San Lucas that make hyperbolic claims like«Best Fish Tacos!»? You don’t trust them, do you. Especially when they all say that. Trust this one. These are some of the best damn fish tacos I’ve ever had. And the litany of professional and amateur reviews on other publications back me up. Stop in to this joint for a dizzying array of fried and grilled fish options served up bare on tasty tortillas(hecho a mano, por supuesto). Then saunter over to the expansive toppings bar with all sorts of salsas, vegetables, escabeches and more, and just fucking go nuts. Top that shit. The fish(as with a lot of places in this seafood haven) is fresh and generous in portion. The stand outs for us were… everything. The batter just thick enough to not be overbearing. And the topping combinations are endless. So many delicious house slaws and sauces… oh man. Just writing this takes me back. It’s rare that a garish and tacky advertisement on the outside of the building is backed up by the quality of the food inside, but these guys pull it off. Don’t miss. And please, please eat here instead of at the surf n’ turf joints in the Golden Zone. This is why you came to Mexico, right? You can eat surf n’ turf at home. You won’t see anything like this in the states. The topping bar alone is worth a visit. And you’ll actually see locals eating here, which is always a good sign.
