This is a hole in the wall type place, but well worth the visit. The floor is sand, the seats are plastic, the roof is straw, and the ceviche is simply divine. Everything is prepared right next to you in the kitchen area. I initially had my doubts about the cleanliness, but we had no problems. The bathrooms are interesting, but that’s what you get with the non touristy experience. Delicious!

Fantastic authentic mexican food. A local told me about the place. They don’t speak English but they are extremely friendly. They aren’t the cleanest restaurant in Cancun but if you want to hangout with the locals this is the place. The fish tacos, ceviche and the garlic shrimp are my favorites in that order. They are only open for lunch.

This restaurant is across the road from Solaris, marked only by a small sign on the edge of the brush and a small bit of gravel for parking. You follow the set of wooden stairs by the restaurant sign down to a large palapa that is directly next to an open-air kitchen where about 6 people are hulling shrimp, mixing the filling for fish tacos, grilling tostadas, and more to prepare your order fresh, straight from the sea. The open seating area leads right up to the lagoon, where several boats are tied, and fish swim near the shore. During our visit, it became clear that the fish tacos are the thing to order, both because they are delicious, and also because every family that came in ordered a platter piled high. In addition to the tacos, we had the mixed ceviche that was nothing but fresh flavors. The $ 290 peso bill, which included 2 drinks, made this a steal, but the environment was what made it a unique experience. This is not a fancy restaurant. It is very humble, entirely outdoor, not manicured, rustic Mexican kitchen that appears to be family-run.

Loved this hole in the wall! On the lagoon side of avenida kulkulkan, have to watch for the sign. Ordered 4 fish tacos(«pescadillas») and shrimp al mojo de ajo. We recommend sticking with the fish tacos, order 10 of them, they’re only 14 pesos each! They don’t have electricity so they close around sunset. Be prepared for basics, no special requests! Great find on the strip. Enjoy!

Simple and simple. Nothing sophisticated. We order fish taco(and we reorder it — and not just because it’s under $ 1/each!) — cocked on an open fire… We order mix ceviche — less than $ 10 for two. If you want to eat fish: open the cooler and see what inside! You like it? Take it out — put on a scale and hand it to the«Boucher» who will cut it open, clean it — and into the hot oil. Must visit and try if you don’t care to sit on a plastic chairs — no running water — and no English speaking servers…

Stayed in the hotel zone and wanted some cheap local food. This was the place! Luckily it was within walking distance of our luxurious palace, Solymar. Ordered the fish tacos(see pic). It was more like«crab» meat but with fish… The shell for the tacos was fried which I loved! The salsa was great– quite hot. We were the only tourists, everyone else was local and the staff did not speak English. Service was bad but tacos were so awesome, simple but delish! I wanted to come back and try other items but time did not allow :/

Wow. First person to review this place? This place is cool! Locals spot for sure. Dollar tacos, Coronas, awesome salsa. Saw the guys bringing the fish right off the boat into the open air kitchen to cook and clean. Crocodile warning sign right on the edge of the water where you sit! No frills just good cheap food and killer little place. Must see
