Dropped by early afternoon for a pepperoni pizza. Got home and was disappointed with what I saw in the box. The pepperoni was hidden underneath the cheese, the sauce, if any, was lightly applied. The pizza tasted bland — no pepperoni kick. Will continue to search elsewhere for flavorful pizza in the Auckland area.

I used to frequent this place while I still lived on Mount Street. A perfect combination of slightly better than average food and convenience. Burgers = average. Pizza = awesome. Nothing better than waking up around midday(if your uni timetable allows), realizing you do not have any milk for you cornflakes, and then breaking your student shoe string budget by eating pizza for breakfast. They have a good range of pizza recipes and their pizzas never come out soggy. But I think they oven bake their fries, time to invest in a deep fryer I say.

I technically live at home, but I swear I spend more time at University these days writing my dissertation among other things. As a town planning student I’m based in the UoA architecture building which happily is a 2 minute walk from Mount Street. That means that every late night at uni means dinner from Heat(especially since Sal’s no longer do segway delivery, booo). If it’s convenient for me, I imagine it’s even more convenient for the many thousands of students that actually live here. The place is staffed by students so they’re down with their clientele. Pizzas are the staple here — generously sized, and a great range of flavours. They’re a step up from your average franchise pizza while remaining cheap enough to suit the shoestring budgets of students. They also do an excellent lamb burger which at around $ 6.50(at last check) is pretty good value!
