Cafe Sacher Wien

Man muss es glaube ich (einmal) gemacht haben, wenn man in Wien zu Gast ist…
Ohne Frage ein sehr, sehr edel eingerichtetes Café. Schlange stehen am Eingang, ‘Geleitservice’ zum Platz.
Die Sachertorte, die ja hier die eigentliche Hauptattraktion darstellt, darf ich nicht (allergisch gegen Kakao), habe mir ein Stück Apfelstrudel genommen.
Das Bestellte (Sachertorte, mein Apfelstrudel, Mélange und Espresso) konnte geschmacklich absolut überzeugen, keine Frage, aber erleichtert die Geldbörse dann mal eben um 25 Euro, schon eine Ansage…

Wer hat noch nicht von Café Sacher gehört? Ich habe immer wieder gehört, dass man dort wenigstens ein mal hingehen sollte und so habe ich es auch ausprobiert. Mit Freunden musste ich ca. 10 Minuten warten bis wir reingekommen sind und dann haben wir ein paar verschiedene Desserts und Café bestellt. Die waren sehr! gut und ich war begeistert (ich liebe Desserts, vor allem die guten). Aber leider mussten wir danach alle von so viel Zucker zittern. :) Was mir weniger gefallen ist, ist die Menge von Leute und dass es ziemlich Laut werden kann, aber damit muss man auch rechnen wenn man in so einem berühmten Café etwas bestellen möchte.

Das Café Sacher :-) Als wir das erste mal daran vorbei gelaufen sind, dachte ich mir WOW. Wieso stehen hier Massen von Menschen vorne dran und ich informierte mich weiter. Ich selbst hatte keine Lust mich anzustellen und schaute am Folgetag auf gut Glück nochmal nach wie der Stand vor der Tür ist. Wir hatten vielleicht noch eine Wartezeit von 7 – 8 Minuten, was absolut okay ist. Drinnen angekommen gibt es eine separate Garderobe in der man sich entledigen kann. Gegessen habe ich natürlich ein Stück Sacher Torte. Als Getränk gab es eine heiße Schokolade. Der Service ist in netten Kostümen gekleidet. Es herrscht ein uriger Flair. Die Torte war sehr lecker. Die Preise sind für Wien aber noch okay. Wichtig noch als Randbemerkung. Es steht zwar CAFE im Namen, man kann aber auch richtiges Essen dort aufnehmen. Das werde ich bei meinem nächsten Besuch definitiv tun.

We went here to try the famous torte on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated very quickly and a server was with us right away. We ordered two coffees and one torte to share, which arrived very promptly. It is a very timeless café, with red velvet and seemingly original décor. I have the feeling they are always busy like that and when we left there was a line out the door! The torte itself was nice, served with unsweetened cream and a layer of apricot jam in the middle. I am not a huge fan of chocolate cake, but it was nice and light. The coffee was absolutely delicious, I think the best we had in Vienna. Apparently, it is a special blend made for them to go with the cake, and it is so nice. They do offer food and other cakes, mainly I think you would only drop by for a cake and a coffee. But it is a lovely space, right behind the Vienna State Opera, which is worth an afternoon visit when one is exploring the lovely city!

Llevaba mucho tiempo mi prima hablándome de esta cafetería reconocida en el centro de Viena, para ir a tomar café y según ella, la mejor tarta que había probado. Acepté sin dudarlo, Ñam ñam, los postres dulces me pierden.
La realidad es que el precio es alto por donde está situado el sitio y la famosa tarta, nada remarcable.
Si quieres tomar un trocito de esta conocida elaboración, pásate por allí, quizás tú opinión sea diferente a la mía, pero si decides confiar en mi valoración (intento ser objetivo siempre), busca otro lugar, pagarás menos y posiblemente disfrutes más.

This is a beautiful café near the Opera House so on our last day in Vienna, we stopped in to try the famous Sachertorte. Lots of tourists were there too so it’s takes awhile for the food to arrive at the table and although the cake had a good flavor, I thought it was dry so the experience was a little underwhelming. If I were to return, I would probably order something else.

Not fancy but very posh, you can definitely feel the royal richness of Austrian-​Hungarian empire. A must for travelers, tourists. Nice Sacher cake too. thought somewhat dry but that’s normal apparently.

Tja, hier geht es mir wie beim «Demel». Muss man einmal gesehen und erlebt haben — aber das wars dann auch schon.
Also, als Tourist mehr oder weniger eine «Pflichtanlaufstelle». Einmal eine Sachertorte im Sacher essen… gehört einfach zu einem ordentlichen Wienbesuch.
Lebt man in Wien, naja, da muss man schon in der Abteilung «reich und geschmacklos» zuhause sein, um hierher zu gehen. Der Kaffee ist nix besonderes, halt nur teurer als in den anderen Kaffeehäusern und die Sachertorte ist, ganz ehrlich, auch eher enttäuschend. Die gibts in diversen anderen Lokalitäten um einiges besser und auch günstiger. (Aber die produzieren auch nicht 3000 Stück in der Woche!)

Great place to fill time while waiting for the opera (as we did). Busy and full of tourists, and service is kind of slow. If youre in Vienna though, you have to come here.
Sacher Torte is pretty great, since this is its birthplace. Elegantly light texture, and crumblier than I thought and you can taste the apricot spread well. Very easy to eat. ⁵⁄₅.
Esterhazy torte was good too but kind of sweet and heavy. And it had a lot of hard nut shell bits which could not be bit. ⁷⁄₁₀.
Coffees were all good. Regular good coffee. Nothing to be blown away by.
Overall it is worth visiting.

Come here for the original Sacher Torte to check that off of your list and enjoy the beauty of the café with a view of the Opera House. One of my favorite cafes we visited in Vienna.

Just came here for the famous sachertorte!
My wife and I came in the afternoon at about 2pm on a weekday. There was about 5 people in front me us, but the line moved fast.
The room we sat in was beautifully decorated. I wish I was more hungry, because I saw some other people with food and it looked good! We weren’t very hungry so we just simply ordered one Sachertorte to share.
The dessert came out really quickly. I felt like the combinations of flavors worked so well. The apricot jam with the chocolate gave the dessert an unique flavor. The unsweetened whipped cream helped balance the sweet chocolate. It was really good!
Would recommend you check this place out. Even though it maybe a little touristy the dessert is worth checking out.

Really good, worth the 30 minute wait to get in, great coffee and tea with the sacher torte and apple struddle. Tourist trap yes but do it at least once.

Institution so we had to try it. That being said, thats the ONLY reason to try them out. What makes them popular escapes me. Sacher torte and coffee mediocre. Better to get at Starbucks down the corner (sacrilege).$ 32 for three cakes, two coffee and one hot chocolate

I had the raspberry yogurt cake and it was DELICIOUS! The espresso is wonderful as well. The atmosphere just felt too forced, and I did not like how it was such a small space and people were smoking inside. It made the whole experience uncomfortable.

AWFUL place. Good if your idea of a good night out is McDonald’s. The worst Sacher i have had in my life. Good for clueless tourists.

The second-​to-​the-​last-​stop location of the bus tour of Eastern Europe was Vienna, Austria. We checked in to the hotel and immediately sought out the local tram to take to this place. This place was easy to find. It was 3 stops from our hotel in the city center which is mostly (and more easily) traversed by foot.
This place was recommended for its long-​known specialty of the house, the Sachertorte, a chocolate cake with apricot filling. Our tour guide had told us that this cake was specially made for visiting heads of state, politicians, etc etc (i.e. predominantly male). So this cake was different for its time in that it was less sweet than the usual cakes served at afternoon tea.
We waited in the short line for 15 – 20 minutes or so to get in. It was sprinkling at that time and the café was packed. The décor consisted of dark wood paneling and small circular white faux marble tables edged with gold-​colored trim. There weren’t many waiters/​waitresses so it took a while for our waiter to come take our order.
We ordered a slice of the Sachertorte and drinks (hot chocolate, coffee, hot tea). The Sachertorte was not overly sweet as advertised; the sweetness was just right for my palate. But unfortunately the cake itself was dry and I couldn’t taste the apricot filling. The hot chocolate was ok; I still think Angelina’s hot chocolate (Paris, France) is the most memorable delicious hot chocolate I’ve ever had. I’m glad I went to try out the Sachertorte but I think once is enough.
On a side note, they do have an area inside the café where they sell the Sachertorte and other chocolates for gift giving. I did purchase some chocolates for gifts. The ones in the heart-​shaped tin tasted good: creamy chocolate and not too sweet. The fruit-​compote truffles in the lavender purple box tasted artificial.

Definitely should be a spot to come through if you are in the area. The level of swag is pretty high in the sense of lavish living. Perfect for Instagram and snapchat because that mess is regal as hell. However, let’s get to the food feel me?
I got the SacherTorte cake which was one of the things this place was known for. It was definitely a good cake, kind of dry but the apricot inside kind of makes up for it. However, I probably would not want to get it again. It is one of those desserts that are like well I have to eat it when I’m here even though it’s gunna make me feel like death afterwords. It’s pretty damn heavy so it’s definitely shareable.
The hot chocolate was good. Definitely not anything special, but still on point. You should mainly get it for the classy plate and mug it comes in.
Overall, the place looks extremely nice. It can get crowded so try to come at an off time. The tables are kind of small so if you got a big group then good luck bruh. Anyway, again a good place to stop by. Going there again? I am not quite sure I would.

Ma-​gni-​fique ! Voilà ce que l’on se dit en découvrant l’intérieur du Café Sacher. Tables nappées de blanc, service à thé traditionnel, tapisserie aux murs… l’endroit est tout simplement superbe, idéal pour plonger dans l’ambiance de la Vienne impériale, le temps d’un goûter.
Parce que oui, nous y sommes allés pour le goûter puisque le Café Sacher est le berceau du gâteau traditionnel viennois qui porte son nom: la Sacher Torte. Pour la petite histoire, il a été inventé dans ce lieu même, par un apprenti âgé de seulement 16 ans, alors qu’il remplaçait le chef pâtissier, malade ce jour-​là.
Il s’agit d’un gâteau au chocolat TRÈS gourmand, avec une fine couche de confiture d’abricot en son centre et recouvert d’un glaçage au chocolat. Je l’ai dégusté avec un thé noir fleuri; c’était parfait.
La carte comporte un bon choix d’autres gâteaux ainsi qu’une grande variété de thés et cafés.

The Quick: Solid 3.5 stars. You have to try where the original chocolate cake was founded. Great view of the opera house, feeling of sophistication and flair. I wasn’t overly blown away but still glad I tried it!

I came here and sat outside, hoping for some delicious chocolate cake – the famous SacherTorte, that is – and the Apple strudel. I found both to be disappointing. The cake itself was dry and the chocolate frosting had sort of a marzipan (dry and sticky) texture. The whipped cream was good and necessary to cover up the dryness of the cake. The Apple strudel had a crust that was damp; it looked like it should be flakey but it was in fact quite soggy. I ordered a mélange with it (which is basically a Viennese cappuccino) and it was lukewarm by the time it arrived along with the cake 30 minutes later.
Oh, and as I walked up, the server for the outdoor café (who was extremely slow) originally told me I needed to wait in line to be seated outside and when I got to the front of the line, the hostess told me to seat myself, so that was a waste of time. Danke.

Good place to kill time. The original Sacher Torte is good, not too sweet. The whipped cream is one of the best I have tasted. Mélange is quite unique to Vienna, but nothing to write home about.
The café is situated in the historic Hotel Sacher. The service ok.

Casa do famoso bolo de chocolate que recebe o mesmo nome que o Hotel onde ele foi criado em 1832, até hoje se mantém o segredo de sua receita.
Porém, o tão famoso bolo não é nada de extremamente gostoso, é mais fama do que ser realmente super gostoso. Mas mesmo assim vale a pena experimentar ele. Os cafés e chás que vendem no café são extremamente bons, não deixe de pedir a bebida de sua escolha pra tomar enquanto come o bolo.
O atendimento é bastante rápido, inclusive, é tão rápido que dá a sensação de que eles querem se livrar de você o mais rápido possível, o que até faz sentido, já que sempre tem alguém querendo provar a famosa torta, então eles mantêm as pessoas entrando e saindo do estabelecimento o mais rápido possível.
Se você estiver em Viena durante o verão, fique em mente que o prédio é antigo e portanto não há ar condicionado, portanto pode ser bastante quente dentro do Café.

OK ironically I remmeber Café Scher more because of the Café items than the Sacher Torte. Café Scaher invented Torte y’all! this is significantly ironic.
The Torte just did not do it for me. Sure it’s covered in a bitter sweet chocolate shell and the cake has some moisture preserved, yet it’s just not that special… Or maybe I’m just allergic to cakes.
Anyhoo, the food items were the true gems!
Smoked salmon with potato cake was the star. Even my parents loved it, given their usual preference for Asain food. The fish tastes fresh, the right amount of basalmic cuts through the fat, and the bean shoots were fresh with a hint of bitterness.
And the goulash soup was super hearty too!
Best part, everything came in huge portions. These were labled appetizers, but we were all happily stuffed with said appetizers.
Service was great. If you look through the typical Bavarian stiffness and certain presumptions they hold against foreigners… Once you are seated they treat you with white glove service.
Café Sacher is one of the few places in Vienna that has a line outside. Now I know why that is.

On a quick day trip to Vienna, we did our best to be proper tourists, so obviously our trip wouldn’t be complete without a piece of sacher-​torte, and there’s only one place worth going in Vienna, by all accounts!
It’s a bit confusing to know where to go in, as there are multiple entrances but we went to the one that looked the prettiest, and ended up in a small room lined with benches and chandeliers, and a big display of cakes in the centre. The service was quick and efficient, and we both had a (very expensive, € 5.60 I believe!) slice of sacher-​torte. I had an Almdudler to drink, which is kind of like ginger ale. It’s Austrian, I really liked it!
The sacher-​torte was really light and nice. but probably not € 5.60 nice. The apricot taste was strong and that’s not my favourite thing, to be honest, but how could I order anything else?
Other people around us had savoury food and that looked nice. I’m glad I’ve been and it’s worth a stop, just to say you’ve been.

Im Café Sacher isst man ja normalerweise Sachertorte, nur ist die wirklich in vielen Kaffeehäusern um einiges besser wie im Café Sacher. Der Kuchen ist doch meistens trocken, was ich mir auch damit erkäre, dass sie den ja auch verschicken.
Auf jeden Fall gibt es weitaus gemütlichere Kaffeehäuser im ersten Bezirk, die wirklich tolle Sachertorten haben.

Partiendo de que las porciones de tartas en otros lugares de Viena rondan los mismos precios, ésta no es excesiva. Para mí es espectacular. Las texturas, los sabores se distinguen perfectamente, la cantidad de azúcar (me refiero a lo dulce que puede llegar a estar)…es una combinación perfecta. También hemos probado la de manzana. Muy buena, muy suave para apreciar perfectamente los sabores de cada cosa. Genial.

First of all — that’s the best place for cake lovers: if you die and gone to heaven, you realized that’s Café Sacher and they are just serving you Sacher torte and café mélange. Or Apfelstrudel and café mélange. Just tasting heaven!
The place itself is, at least for me, like from totally different age, let’s say… 1920’s: «not my story» interior (rich, splendorous and much too much red) but with great location.
That’s how I see it, but hey! I love cakes :)

Hotel Sacher’s café where the Sachertorte originated is quite a legend, so naturally I was curious to check it out. However, the long line of tourists waiting and the peek into the crowded interior of the café ended up turning me off (the café that I saw seemed like a modern extension to accommodate the masses eager for the sacher experience — you can see it right from the shopping street: just a bunch of tables looking like any other café, no signature red couches and piano music in sight).
So Instead, what I’d like to review and bring your attention to is the take-​home sachertorte shop. If you are thinking about bringing a gift from Vienna, the original sachertorte is quite a good option.
The shop is in the foyer of the ‘modern’ Sacher café (there are multiple entrances depending on which part of the hotel Sacher you are going to). There are more products on offer, but the most popular ones are the boxed tortes. There are four sizes ranging from 12 cm (piccolo) to 22 cm in diameter. The cake comes neatly packed in a decorative hotel sacher wooden box and wrapping paper. It is packed securely and snugly enough that you don’t have to worry about destroying it while bringing it home. Another thing that makes very easily portable as a gift is that the cake does not need the fridge (too much cold is actually not good for the cake) and the shop assistant said that it would stay fresh for up to 14 days, so it should survive even a trip far from Vienna. I brought the small one home for my grandma and it tasted very good when opened four days after purchase.
The prices are really high — 23euro for the tiny cake up to 46 for the large one. It is really up to you whether you find it worth it spending so much for a little cake and a decorative box — I probably wouldn’t do it again, but as a one time way to bring our grandma a little piece of Vienna back, it served nicely.

This is by far one of the greatest chocolate cakes I’ve ever tried… get the coffee to contrast the sugar, it’s just awesome!
It also has takeout cakes that make an excellent souvenir

Sacher Torte has to be one if my favorite things in life, and I’m not even exaggerating. My dog is called Sacher for God’s sake!
So if you find yourself in Vienna go and have a slice of heaven and indulge in one of their coffees, try one with liqueur and whipped cream (forget your diet here hun, Vienna is not a waistline friendly city) to warm yourself up after the cold and snow outside.
I must warn you most waiters are very friendly and accomodating but many people find their traditional ways snooty or stuck up, don’t even mind them and enjoy the place, the food and the city.
Pro tip– if you are a tourist in Austria and are going to Salzburg too, there’s good news, as there is also a Sacher hotel there, they are run by the same owners and as such have the same recipes. They can also ship you the cake anywhere in the world you want ! Do it online or at their gift shop.

Es war schön, freundlich und lecker.
Habe den Einspänner und die Sachertorte und das Ambiente genossen. In Wien ist es schon fast Pflicht das Café zu besuchen und die traditionelle Sachertorte zu genießen.

Einer der offensichtlicher Touristenmagnete in Wien, aber es fallen sofort positiv die Offnungszeiten auf: bis mind. 24 Uhr ist es wohl offen, und somit kann man auch spät Abends und /​oder Nachts die Touristenströme gut umgehen und DIE Torte probieren, ohne lange zu warten. Kuchen und Kaffee waren sehr gut, obwohl die Preisen einen ein wenig schlucken lassen … Naja, der Namen wird halt mit bezahlt. Alles in allem eine Empfehlung!

Après un peu d’attente mais rien de bien méchant nous pénétrons dans cette fameuse maison.
Je trépignais d’impatience et me faisais une vraie joie d’être là.
La Sacher torte n’est qu’un gâteau à peine chocolaté et donc sans goût ni relief particuliers. Je né comprends pas l’engouement pour ce gâteau ?!
Nous avons pris par ailleurs la Böhmishe Liwanzen, deux crêpes épaisses de type pancakes fourrées de crème a la prune. c’est gentil mais sans intérêt. Les crêpes sont assez bourratives et la crème écœurante.
Le cadre est agréable et le personnel aimable.
Je né comprends pas ce tapage pour cette maison et pense qu’il y a meilleure adresse a Vienne. Je né reviendrai pas.

Wenn man schon mal nach Wien reist, kommt man um einen Besuch des berühmten Café Sacher wohl kaum herum. Dass das Café eine Touristenhochburg ist, habe ich mir bereits im Vorfeld gedacht, dass ich mich vor dem Eingang jedoch in eine lange Menschenschlange einreihen muss, damit hatte ich wirklich nicht gerechnet. Na gut, dann stellen wir uns eben an für ein ganz spezielles Stück Kuchen — wird schon gut sein, wenn so viele Menschen hier rein wollen…
Glücklicherweise wurde recht bald ein Zweiertisch frei, sodass wir uns an den größeren Gruppen vorbeischlengeln durften, denn im Café Sacher irrt man nicht umher und sucht nach einem Tisch, sondern wird vornehm platziert :)
Die Karte liest sich gut, es gibt neben einer großen Kuchen– und Tortenauswahl auch viele herzhafte Gerichte. Alle Gäste um uns herum aßen jedoch dasselbe: Sachertorte! Nun bin ich im Gegensatz zu meinem Mann kein Fan dieser Speise. Für mich ist das ein dröger Schokokuchen, mit Torte hat das nichts zu tun. Zudem mag ich zwar sowohl Schokolade als auch Marmelade, aber bitteschön nicht zusammen! Bäh!
Meine Wahl fiel also auf etwas gänzlich Anderes, nämlich auf ein Stück Topfenstrudel, dazu gab’s einen Kleinen Braunen, also einen Espresso mit Milch im extra Minikännchen.
Mein Strudel war ganz lecker, außen knusprig und innen schön saftig. Auch die Sachertorte habe ich probiert… na ja, die muss man eben mögen! Der Kaffee im Café Sacher ist hingegen sehr gut.
Fazit: Ja, man sollte hier mal her, um mitreden zu können, aber Wien hat viele schöné Kaffeehäuser, daher bin ich noch unentschlossen, ob ich noch mal wiederkomme…

Okay, wir waren auch da. Muss nicht nochmal sein. Schlangestehen und Geduld sind gefragt. Die berühmte Torte gefiel uns nicht, ist aber geschmackssache. Wir waren da, können folglich mitreden, brauchen es nicht nochmal. Es gibt auch viele weitere schöné Kaffeehausinstitutionen in Wien.

Ok, das Sacher gehört einfach zu Wien, aber ganz ehrlich, abgesehen von der Sachertorte ist es wirklich nichts besonderes. Der Kaffee ist nicht besonders gut, da gibt es in Wien viele kleine Kaffeeläden, wo es bedeutend besseren Kaffee gibt. Und nebenbei ist es auch noch sehr teuer im Sacher. Ein Stück Torte und ein Kaffee kosten locker mal 10,– Euro. Im Vergleich zum Zimmerpreis von 400,– Euro aufwärts zwar ein Schnäppchen, aber mir einfach zu teuer. Dafür ist der Kaffee einfach nicht gut genug.
Das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Ein richtig schönes altes Kaffeehaus mit Gemälden an der Wand.
Worüber man sich im klaren sein muss: Es handelt sich natürlich um eine absolute Touristenattraktion. Das eigentliche Hotel ist vom Café getrennt, so dass die Touristen bloss nicht in Kontakt mit den Hotelgästen geraten. Schade, denn so werden die Klassenunterschiede der Gesellschaft richtig deutlich gemacht…

Das Kaffeehaus ist gehoben eingerichtet und durch die engagierten Türsteher hat man seine ruhe vor Tischsuchenden Gästen. Die Garderobe ist verpflichtend und kostet einen Euro pro Jacke. Das fand ich dann doch eher gewöhnungsbedürftige, allerdings hat die leckere Sachertorte, der Wiener Apfelstrudel und dazu die Mélange alles wieder glatt gebügelt. Sehr lecker.

Beim vierten Besuch in Wien haben wir es nun doch mal in Angriff genommen und das Café Sacher besucht. Der Touri-​Zulauf hatte uns zunächst immer abgeschreckt, aber letztendlich wollten wir uns dann doch mal selbst ein Bild machen.
Ja, man ist gezwungen, die Jacke an der Garderobe abzugeben. Und ja, die kostet dann sogar noch 1 Euro pro Jacke.
Ja, alles hier ist teurer als in anderen Kaffeehäusern. Für einen «Kleinen Braunen» zahlt man aktuell 2,90 Euro.
Ja, man fühlt sich ein bisschen wie in einem Schlosszimmer. Die «verkleideten» Bedienungen kamen mir jedoch irgendwie künstlich vor, es erscheint alles ein bisschen inszeniert. Allerdings hatten wir zum Beispiel nur den Blick in den hübschen Raum, da wir selbst einen Platz im «Wintergarten» bekamen — quasi die geschlossene Gehweg-​Terrasse. Also keine roten Polster, sondern Bistrostühle.
Na ja, wir waren mal da und ich kann auch verstehen, dass man mal dagewesen sein will — so wie wir. Aber bei den Preisen wird das für mich ein einmaliges Erlebnis bleiben und ich bin auch nicht traurig drum.

Ich war schon mehrfach in diesem Kaffehaus. Immer wenn ich Wien besuche, komme ich hierher auf einen Kaffee und eine Sachertorte. Man fühlt sich hier einfach wohl. Das Ambiente ist klassisch und elegant, die Qualität ist immer sehr gut.

Sehr guter Service und sehr schöné Atmosphäre im historischen Gewand. Aufgrund der Berühmtheit muss man natürlich einen Moment warten, bis man platziert wird. Das macht das Café gleichzeitig besonders. Jeder muss seine Jacke und größere Tüten abgeben und wird dann an seinen Tisch gebracht. Dadurch ist das Café nicht nur gemütlicher und weniger hektisch, sondern auch weniger touristisch. Wir hatten ein Mittagsgericht von der Wochenkarte und als Nachtisch ein Stück Sachertorte. Das war in jedem Fall sein Geld wert!

Kaffee Sacher wie man es erwartet klassisch und gut Service war schnell naja der preis 2 Stück sachertorte und 2 Kaffee knapp 20 € aber hei es ist schon lecker !!

Kaffee und Kuchen einmal anders. Nachdem es ja nun das bekannteste Kaffeehaus der Stadt ist, musste ich es doch auch einmal besuchen. Und ich muss sagen, dass war einmal eine völlig andere Atmosphäre. Freundlich durch den Empfang zur Garderobe begleitet (habe auch noch nie für Garderobe im Restaurant oder Kaffeehaus bezahlt) und später zum Tisch geführt, spürte man den gehobenen Anspruch sogleich. Und nicht nur der fast persönliche Empfang auch die roten Seidentapeten, die Kerzenleuchter, das Servicepersonal in schicken klassischem Gewand und die anderen Gäste, zumeist in Abendkleidern und Anzügen verdeutlichten, dies ist kein gewöhnliches Kaffeehaus.
Ein Blick in die Karte verwies dann doch darauf, ja wir befinden uns dennoch weiterhin in Wien. Die Speisen sind nicht ungewöhnlicher als sonstwo auch. Die Preise hingegen nehmen sich auch nichts im Vergleich zu anderen Häusern im ersten Bezirk. Die Qualität war hingegen sehr gut und hat mich´schon überzeugt. Mein Topfenstrudel war saftig und wirklich gut im Geschmack, besonders begeistert aber war ich vom Orangensaft. Obwohl gespritzt hat man den Unterschied der frisch gepressten Orangen deutlich wahrgenommen. Wirklich ein Gedicht.
Jede Woche brauche ich das gehobene Ambiente wahrlich nicht, aber wer einmal für einen Moment wie ein «König» verwöhnt werden möchte, der ist hier an der richtigen Adresse. Naja und für Gäste aus dem Ausland, ist das Sacher natürlich auch ein Stück Wien.

Das Café Sacher ist natürlich eine der bekanntesten Adressen in Wien, direkt zwischen Oper und Albertina. Mit Freunden aus dem Ausland war ich nun an einem Samstag hier auf einen Kaffee und eine Sachertorte.
Das Ambiente ist — wie man es erwartet — klassisch für ein Wiener Kaffehaus, ruhig, gediegen und elegant.
Sachertorte und Apfelstrudel waren in Ordnung, auf mein Getränk wurde vergessen, kann ich daher nicht beurteilen. Die Preise sind gehoben, da könnte man sich von der Qualität der Mehlspeise und der Art wie sie angerichtet wird mehr erwarten. Das Landtmann achtet hier deutlich mehr darauf dass die Stücke schön aussehen und auf nettem Geschirr stehen.
Sehr enttäusch wurden wir von Service. Es begann damit dass unsere Kellnerin so schlecht Deutsch spach, dass die Verständigung darunter litt. Wie schon gesagt vergaß sie einzelne Dinge, und ließ sich auch über längere Zeit nicht mehr blicken. Als wir zahlen wollten mussten wir aufstehen und wurden einige Minuten lang von der Empfangsdame eher unfreundlich gebeten zu warten. Wir waren kurz davon ohne zu bezahlen zu gehen und haben dies auch dem Personal auch ausreichend mitgeteilt und wurden dabei belächelt. Am Ende konnten wir bei unserer recht unbeholfenen Kellnerin bezahlen. Sie musste aber eine Kollegin rufen, um das Wechselgeld korrekt zusammenzuzählen (sic!).
Alles in allem hat das Sacher wohl noch seinen Glanz aus alten Tagen, ist wohl aber kurz davor in Vergessenheit zu geraten. Wenn man für eine Sachertorte und eine Kanne Tee knapp 10 € bezahlt, muss auch der Service dazupassen.
