Absolutely amazing little deli and honestly was the highlight of our time in Vienna — we went there twice in 3 days and I wish we went more! The owner and his son are seriously some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and you can trust them to give you an incredible meal of local meats, cheese, and wines. It isn’t exactly cheap, but it was worth every penny. It was my first time in Vienna and I can’t wait to go back — especially to this special, tiny place.

Quite honestly, our afternoon at Urbanek was one of my favorite memories of Wien. Go here. The family that runs the shop will take good care of you, show you delicious wines and make you a Viennese charcuterie platter you won’t soon forget.
One of the Brothers who runs the shop and was featured in Bourdain’s trip to Vienna chatted with us and let us sample some incredible cheese and meats. The blood sausage was really incredible, creamy and with a mild flavor.
We enjoyed chatting with these two guys and left with full bellies and loads of recommendations for drinks, bites and nice dinners throughout Vienna. We will just have to go back to check everything off of our list!
Please pay them a visit. You can’t help but have respect for the tradition that this family is carrying on. They were by far the nicest people we met on our travels and we look forward to sharing a glass of wine with them in the future.

Gleichbleibend gut, um nicht zu sagen an — oder ausdauernd exzellent ist was der Urbanek am Naschmarkt anbietet.
Keine Scheu vor der Kleinigkeit sollte man haben, der Feinkostladen Urbanek ist winzig, quasi ein Kabinett der Genüsse.
Käse unterschiedlichster Reifegrade, aus namhaften und weniger solchen Regionen, wer z.B. den alten Vorarlberger Bergkäse in den Fingern hatte, duftet lange nach.
Sein Roastbeef gehört nur aufgefressen. Ohne Kommentar.
Würste, Specke, Schinken, da schnalzt es im Goderl und die Werte im Blut haben gehörig zu steigen, den passenden Wein und der Urabnek hat eine Menge vom Guten, sollte man sich während einer Stehpartie vor der Hüttn leisten, Raucher haben drinnen soundso nichts verloren, rauchende Raucher natürlich.
