My first meal in Geneva, but not super impressed. First thing’s first, seat yourself, don’t wait for them. I had two of the crab sandwiches, which were fine but nothing to write home about. They’re basically little tea sandwiches on white bread filled with crab salad and alfalfa sprouts. I’m probably an idiot because I ordered the«the froid citron» expecting something homemade but got a bottle of nestea. For 4.60 francs. *sigh* My husband’s croque monsieur and salad were fairly tasty. They spoke a little English, which helped us with our rusty French. But all in all, I wouldn’t walk a mile again to come back here for their lunch. But I’d consider it to try something from their wide array of desserts, purely based on looks.

Martel is a confectionery shop with tea room and is located in downtown Geneva. They sell chocolates, pastries, sandwiches and so on. Tea room menu is limited but interesting! I ordered tasty Norwegian salad served with toasts and bread. Well! Above all it’s to mention salmon and shrimps were fresh! Bread was fresh too but unfortunately hard to eat! Service was very friendly and price met high quality food.

My only good experience in Geneva so far — the foie gras on toast at Martel.

Martel is one of my favourite places to have my lunch in Geneva. Before my office moved, I ate here virtually every day for lunch(except when I was treating myself to Globus). My favourite(and possibly the only thing I’ve eaten here) are the crab sandwiches — they are amazing! Very light, with a touch of cress… yum yum! And possibly one of the cheaper lunches that I’ve managed to find in Geneva(CHF3.50 per sandwich). Ah, how I miss Martel’s crab sandwiches… drooling just thinking about them! A must go if you’re looking for a light and easy snack.

This is a must stop place in Geneva at the foot of the Old Town. You mjust stop in the afternoon for dessert and coffee and take some chocolate home with you. Its one of the oldest chocolate places in town and you will truly enjoy anything chocolate or pistachio if you are a fan… there is a lot more, but those are my faves!

Joli et pittoresque Cette place est sur le chemin quand on veut monter vers la vieille ville, c’est pittoresque et joli et monter vers la cathédrale par ce chemin là a beaucoup de charme. Il y a aussi parfois des marché sympas.
