Einfache traditionelle Schweizer/​Walliser Küche mit grosser Auswahl an Rösti und Fondue. Das Essen ist gut und die Bedienung okay. Bedienung hätte etwas freundlicher und schneller sein können. An der Bar hat es auch Einheimische die sich ein Feierabendbier genehmigen, was es sympatisch macht. Trotzdem hat es viele Touristen.
Laut Eigenwerbung das älteste Wirtshaus von Zermatt.
Sehr günstig ist es nicht aber definitiv auch nicht sehr teuer.
Wer etwas einfaches sucht ohne gehobene Küche und Baumwollservietten ist hier richtig.

We just had an overlooked omelet, a very salty rosti and 2 bad white wines for $ 45. Service was indifferent and then refused credit card as bill was under $ 5o ch. Really terrible. I never write reviews but this place is living off its location.

Food was good. The cheese fondue with herbs and hot chocolate was nice! Good place to hide from the cold.

Again, if there were ten stars on Unilocal this place would get it. I did not believe there was better fondue in Switzerland than Café du Soleil in Geneva but here it is. Plus, the service is personable and pleasant– the owner is a climber and a character who will spend the evening at your table telling you tales of the Matterhorn if you let him.

I found Restaurant du Pont to be charming. They have a couple outdoor tables but most of the seating is inside, part of the restaurant is sunk in so I was eye level with the street. The interior is wood with low hanging lanterns over the tables. The menu contains traditional Swiss fare including fondue (the large party at the near by table had the cheese which came with bread and potatoes and seemed to enjoy it). I had the Rosti with cheese and ham. It came out in the pan with bubbling cheese. This was my first experience with this dish and thought it was great. The edge potatoes had a crispness and the interior were soft.
The portions are a good size and the price is a bit lower than many of the surrounding restaurants.

Even a place catering to tourists can turn out fine if plain food. We enjoyed our Rosti at reasonable pricing for Zermatt or any ski resort town for that matter. Service was friendly. Others seemed to be enjoying their fondue, which was served with both bread and potatoes. If you’re looking for traditional cuisine, you could do worse and spend more.

Awesome rosti and raclette. For the area, the prices are really reasonable and the portion sizes are pretty large.
Service is efficient, not overly friendly, but they ensure a smooth experience. Really enjoyed the place. The setting is quaint and cottage-​like.

Gutes Walliser Essen. Kinderstuhl vorhanden. Essen für Kind wurde freundlicherweise erwärmt. Gutes Preis/​Leistungsverhältnis.

Cheap but bad food. had a Cheese crustard and a green salad. not really testy! believe me, i’m swiss and know about cheese. the service hardly understands german. not to recomend.
