Firmengeschichte
Hat 1876 eröffnet.
Our famous traditional coffee house with its 130 year history was first opened in 1876. It is part of the Palais Ferstel, which was a bank and stock exchange and the most modern house in Vienna at that time. At the turn of the 20th century it was a popular meeting point for leading lights in the world of art, literature, politics and science such as Arthur Schnitzler, Sigmund Freud, Stefan Zweig and Leo Trotzki. Peter Altenberg was so associated to the Café, that he even quoted it as his post address.
